In loving memory of Betty Dinah Rose Sowter

£1.00

Description

3rd April 1930 - 10th October 2024 aged 94

Betty was an animal lover and especially loved donkeys. She and her husband Geoffrey were gifted sponsorship of a Hillside donkey and shire horse (William) by their granddaughter Becky over 25 years ago. They supported the Sanctuary from that day forward. Geoffrey sadly passed away in 2012.

Betty enjoyed a wonderful family holiday staying in the cottage at Hillside, and she last visited the Sanctuary in September 2023 with her granddaughter Jenny.

Betty suffered a serious stroke in November 2023 which left her unable to use her left arm and leg. In hospital during her recovery, Betty would show nurses and patients photographs of William and Merlin and had their pictures on her wall. Betty returned home in March this year, where she was cared for by her daughter Rachel, son-in-law Chris, and carers. Betty had a wonderful life full of everything she loved; family, friends, children, animals, knitting, and the countryside.

Betty would be so pleased to know that donations in her memory are being gifted to Hillside. She was always amazed at the wonderful work the Sanctuary does and was always keen to support this very worthy cause.

We are so pleased to have received kind donations of £802 In Loving Memory of Betty
