As a teenager Mary cycled much of the UK on a 3-speed bicycle with her dad, staying in youth hostels. Widow of Maurice they had two children who all followed in her love and respect of animals. Mary loved gardening, harvesting, and giving produce to neighbours and passers-by. She befriended every stray animal that came into the garden and is the only person I have heard to contract ringworm from feeding hedgehogs.
With her mischievous nature and sense of humour Mary had a kind word and smile for everyone. She supported several animal rescues all her adult life but particularly supported the work of Hillside.
We, Mary’s children, and grandchildren respectfully ask that any donations in memory of Mary be made to Hillside Animal Sanctuary using the links below. She would love the idea that her friends and family were able to carry on her support with a donation to Hillside.
If you would like to make a donation in Mary's memory, you may do so here. Hillside are very grateful for any donations received.
You are also welcome to ring the Sanctuary office on 01603 736200 to make a donation.
