Linda Porter - Her greatest loves were Animals, Nature and Children

A porter is someone who carries other's burdens. That was certainly true of Lin. It seemed to be her designated role in life.

She was a visionary in the world of education and care of vulnerable children for which she won many plaudits even from the establishment which she challenged so consistently.  She was passionate about the injustice she saw in the educational system in the UK.  This brought her into conflict with much smaller minds.  She never flinched or retreated from the battle.

Bonobo TV had the privilege of working with her on a number of projects, some of which was documented in podcasts, links to which are below. She was the instigator and driving force behind the Spirit of the Game educational initiative, which helped secure UN endorsement for our challenge to racism in the ongoing movie project www.spiritofthegamemovie.com

On Friday, the 30th of September, Lin went to bed with a chest infection. Once sleep found her, she never woke again.

She will be greatly missed, and we truly hope that her legacy will continue in some small way here in the support of Hillside.

She was someone that the world actually needed.

Her particular love was Daisy the pig, with whom she shared her home in Wolverhampton for many years, having rescued her in Somerset
