Our wonderful mum Helen passed away in October, aged only 64.  She fought courageously against a rare condition whilst awaiting a lung transplant, and will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and pets.

Few people in this world have such a sincere devotion to animals as our mum; she was a vegetarian and animal rights activist, rescued injured wildlife, and cared for our many adored pets over the years.  Helen had an admirable gift for creating beautiful illustrations of all creatures, but especially donkeys, which were her favourite!  She was so fond of Hillside, and special occasions always involved exchanging adoptions and goodies from the Hillside shop.

Now that our dear mum has been reunited with family and pets who have also sadly passed, we would love to keep her legacy alive and help more animals in her memory.
